| We have the newest version of Rentrak. I've already loaded it on a brand new pc using Windows XP. The old pc is about to crash. It won't read our travel drives or it's cd-rom. So, backups can only be performed using floppy's. By the time I get to about #10, I start getting errors.
So, I have some experts coming in tomorrow to go into the hard drive and do a data recovery for me. The plan is for them to put the data on dvd.
Question: How do I get all of the info from the dvd(s) onto our new computer? (posted - 25.September.2006.3.00.pm) -- We Deliver! | |
| Hi Kiesha,
On the new PC insert the DVD (backed up data) into the drive. Browse into where the Rapid Rental data is - often in \VIDEO. Highlight all the files by clicking Edit - Select All. Next, click Edit - Copy.
You have now moved all Rapid Rental data from the DVD to a folder on your new PC called VIDEO. You can now create a shortcut to the program as shown on Page 8 of the Rapid Rental Apex Manual.

In paragraph 1 line 3 I made an error - after typing VIDEO for the folder name, you must press the Enter key, then go to the next step.
